Pompeii

These hot-shaped crystal vases, mounted on glass and marble bases, are inspired by Roman antiquity. The vases have a simple, archetypal form, with textured optical glass patterns that nod to the mosaics of ancient cities. The pedestals resemble that most classic architectural element of antiquity: a column. The overall interconnection of shapes, colours, and materials, reminiscent of ancient art, comes from a process of variable spontaneous play. Each vase is an original, having its own distinct character – a different style, feel, flavour – but is at the same time forms an important architectural element within the entire collection.
