Sculptures
Sculptures in process
I elaborate sketches of cut sculptures with three-dimensional modelling using skewers and polystyrene, creating multiple comparative alternatives. This lets me check the proportions of the edges, the composition of views, and the stability.
The preparatory models for mould-melted sculptures are made of paper, foil, sheet metal, plaster, or wax. Each of these materials brings specific possibilities in terms of forming the shape and structure, ideal for capturing a certain idea in the emerging object.
Paintings
Process of painting
Before paintings there are sketches, intertwined with work in glass of smaller format, where I measure the degree of translucency, the rhythms of linear structures, their shadows, and the effect of colours and reflections in light. It is crucial that relations be determined between the individual interlayers of glass, the mutual constellations of which are essential for the overall tone. Coincidence and unpredictability become a natural part of a process that switches between precise design and intuitive experimentation.
